Role Overview:
Could you be our next Insurance Regulation Paralegal?Globe Life is looking for an Insurance Regulation Paralegal to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for managing consumer complaints received from the various Departments of Insurance, the Better Business Bureau, attorneys, as well as those reported directly to the Company by consumers. From the time the initial complaint is received until resolution, the paralegal is responsible for calendaring with all stakeholders, tracking, drafting responses, electronically filing, and logging all aspect of activities concerning the complaint. The Insurance Regulation Paralegal will have frequent interactions with Departments of Insurance and other regulatory bodies.
This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).
What You Will Do:
- Research insurance laws using Westlaw or other legal research service.
- Process the intake for all complaints received, reviewing each complaint thoroughly.
- Calendar all meetings and events in relation to each complaint.
- Promptly draft responses to complaints and consult with supervising attorney, as needed.
- Without exception, meet all deadlines imposed by state complaint-handling regulations and internal Company protocols.
- Ensure that complaints and responses are correctly tracked, stored, documented, and logged.
- Assist Customer Service, Claims and other departments with handling of individual and escalated communications.
- Route legal documents to the correct entity or individual, as received.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What You Can Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of Legal /or insurance industry experience.
- Strong proofing and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated research and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with competency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to critically analyze issues, problem solve and recommend actionable responses.
- Initiative and drive to take responsibility for the tasks expected by the role.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to respond appropriately and professionally to Home Office staff and outside insurance department analysts or examiners, in writing, in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to undertake multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to organize and plan.
- Extremely detail oriented and very well organized.
- Excellent communication skills, especially written communication.
- Ability to perform varied tasks using computers and mainframe administrative programs.
